Open, Shut, Open, Shut....

In today's edition of "Naptime Preschool" with Sam we worked on letters and cutting.

In the past week Sam has taken an interest in learning letter sounds.  We work on this in several ways.  One way is when Sam types on his computer (an old keyboard from Papa) he asks me what the letter says.  He also reads the letters in his books and then asks what the letters say together (how in the world did he figure out that letters go together to make words?!).  Today we made up a new game to work on learning the "baby" letters.  I found a manuscript letter poster at the dollar store and posted it on the boy's easel.  Then we got out letter flashcards and played a matching game.  During this we worked on sounds and identifying "baby" letters.

I also let Sam use his scissors for the first time today and he rocked!  "Open, Shut, Open, Shut.."  He masted fringe cutting and even cut straight lines that I drew for him.   See Facebook for video.  (Does anyone know how to upload videos with the updated post page?)

Sam also had his first Move With Music class tonight at the library.  Next week starts the real preschool!
