Sam is the type of kid who wants to always be doing and learning something. We do most of these activities while Ray is napping but lot of them are activities that younger kids could join in on too. Above all else, we keep it short (about a 1/2 hour a day) and fun!
On Monday:
We made a Mm word list. Sam came up with almost all of these on his own. We hang his artwork on the metal door that leads to our garage so that he can see it and show it off!
Sam, Ray, and Daddy recorded a letter M song and sent it to Uncle Matthew.
On Tuesday:
We made a lower case M monster.
Made patterns out of M&M's and then ate them!
Did a science experiment about floating and sinking. Try it!
On Wednesday:
We printed out and read a reader version of Jan Brett's book, The Mitten.
Do-a-Dot Mm.
Counted, colored matched and made patterns out of M&M's.
On Thursday:
We mixed colors together (food coloring and water).
Sam made a cool Marshmallow man at school. (large and small marshmallows and toothpicks)
Measured (sink play).
On Friday:
Sam wanted to repeat some of his favorites from this week so we: tried the floating M science experiment again, along with mixing colors, measuring during some sink play and mud writing.
Today:
We did the floating M Science experiment again so that Daddy could see.
Size ordering and patterns with some play money.
And finally, to wrap up our Letter Mm week, we made mail for Nunny and Papa. I asked Sam who he wanted to write a letter to and then he told me what to write in the blanks.
Sam wanted to draw a picture of "music" on his letter.
Mmmmmmm....... We had fun!
