Letter Nn Preschool Ideas

This week Sam's letter is: Nn.

So far this week we have:

Made a Nn word list. Again, Sam comes up with most of these words.

Cut and taped Numbers on to a N.
Made a Nest snack (Mix together melted chocolate chips and chow mein noodles. Top with jelly beans.) and "Think Spring!" cards (Sam cut them out and stamped his name). We took some to our Neighbors and went for a Nature walk.
Sam wanted to type his Nn words on the computer so, I opened up Word, put the list a few feet away from him and he went to town (this is a great eye exercise in changing focus from near to far that I did with kids when I was a vision therapist).

We played with the Wipe Clean Flashcards 123 set that he got for Christmas for the first time. Yes, we are still playing with Christmas gifts for the first time. Sam thinks these are fun!

We made some colored Noodles (shake in a bag with a little rubbing alcohol and food coloring) and made patterns with them. Sam even figured out a pattern where I used all blue noodles and just rotated them 90 degrees - he's smart! We plan to use these for stringing, gluing, and maybe even painting too.

Two of the Nn books we picked up from the library this week are, "The Napping House" by Don and Audrey Wood and "No David!" by David Shannon. We also picked up some non-fiction books about nests, newspapers and animal noses.

I'm not sure how much more we will do this week since Nunny (my Mom) is coming on Friday to take the boys for the weekend! But hey, it fits in with the letter Nn theme, right? :)
