Sam is on Spring Break this week so, we did not do a letter of the week. We have done some random coloring, painting, play dough fun but nothing overly planned or structured.
We ran our errands early in the week in hopes of fun later in the week but it was raining Wednesday, Thursday, and again today (We did sneak in storytime and a walk at Innis Woods before the rain on Wednesday though).
Sometimes we need a rainy day though. Yesterday we stayed in our pj's all day! The TV was on for more than the normal half hour in the morning, toys were everywhere and we all had fun relaxing.
Sam, the budding photographer, captured the day well with these two pictures (cars and scraps of fabric on the carpet):
“Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow.” Mary Anne Radmacher

Spring Break - Tuesday
On Tuesday, we stuck around the house most of the day. Mike did some yard work and took down the Christmas lights (yep, you read that correctly) while I did some housework. We ate dinner early and then headed out.
First, we went to Rita's Italian ice. I sampled the Peep's flavored ice but then decided to stick with a tried and true favorite (banana ice layered with chocolate gelati). We actually bought Ray his own rather than making him share (he was very proud of this) and Sam announced to us that his ice cream was making his forehead hurt (ahh his first Brainfreeze!).
The real "magic" happened when we left Rita's and headed to our favorite neighborhood park for the first time this year. This is the type of place where:
Mommy squeezes in to regular jeans for the first time.
And little boys crack up laughing on swings.
And picnics are had.
This trip had lots of activity too. There were races down slides and boys pushing Mommy on the swing and holding hands down the slide and digging in mulch with sticks and making "teams" for no real purpose and hanging on monkey bars and other kids coming to walk their (stuffed) horses and just having fun! Sadly, there was no picture taking...

Spring Break - Monday
Mike (aka Daddy) is on Spring Break this week so, on Monday we went to COSI.
The boys had the most fun in the gadgets area this time.
