I Feel Numb

So, sometime last week I posted about my fabulous new Saucony tennis shoes. Well, I tried them out for the first time on Friday (yep after the trip to the zoo and mopping my kitchen) and my toes went numb after about 10-15 minutes. That was for Week 3 Run 1 of couch to 5K. I was pretty discouraged. I called Front Runner when I got home and they said to bring the shoes back and I could exchange them for something different or get my money back if I couldn't find anything that worked....what awesome customer service.

I went in on Saturday afternoon and explained the situation to a nice woman who is probably about my age. She said she had the same problem before. She also pronates, has a wide foot, and one foot longer than the other (I have all these issues as well). I ended up with an entirely different shoe in a half size bigger and a wide.... 10 Wide....Wow that sounds huge! I got Mizuno's Wave Alchemy 8. I had commented the other night about Mizuno's logo and how I like it. It's supposed to look like a road runner.

Today I went out for run 2 of week 3. (Week 3 is two repetitions of run for 90 seconds, walk for 90 seconds, run for 3 minutes, walk for 3 with a five minute walk at the beginning and end.) It's 60 degrees outside so I actually wore shorts and a new compression tshirt I got at Kohls for $12. I covered 1.89 miles and felt good about the run (except for my runny nose thanks to my allergies). And the shoes felt great! I'm just not sure that I like this whole dripping wet with sweat thing since it's getting warmer out...Mike and I both agreed we will have to do our warm weather running early or late in the day.

Don't forget to take the cities/countries quiz!

  1. Those new shoes are even cuter than the others! I'm glad FrontRunner has such sweet customer service!

Running outside in shorts sounds so nice...
