Starting with the most exciting because I just can't wait..... Ray started saying, "mama" this morning to me. The past few days he has been trying really hard to say it but it's been coming out as "nahnah". This morning I went to get him from his crib and he said, "Nahnah Mama". He's said "Mama" a lot today. :) I think this can be classified as his first word that he actual identifies with the object. He says, "dada" already but not always in association with Mike.
Ray also started pulling to standing in his crib this week. Thankfully we had already dropped the mattress as low as it will go in preparation for this.
Sam got some chocolate custard from Rita's on his hand yesterday and said, "uh-oh poop on my hand."
Sam ate tofu last night at dinner and liked it.
Sam saw some "PPP's" (feminine hygiene products aka proper pad products - that's what my stepdad calls them) and said, "Mommy, your diapers?"
Sam and I's seasonal allergies kicked in to full gear. Sam took his medicine from an actual medicine cup instead of the dropper. Such a big boy! (I have been using the Neti Pot and I love it! It's really helping me.)
Sam will go grab his tennis shoes and tell me he needs to go for a run.
In an effort to pre-potty train Sam we have been talking a lot about bodily functions. He will now proudly announce, "Mommy I'm making pooping". Next step, teach him that he doesn't need 2 verbs in that sentence....
Ray has figured out how to open and close the bi-fold door that leads to our laundry room. He get's himself shut in there sometimes.
Sam has figured out that if he pushes the highchair while Ray is sitting in front of it Ray moves across the floor too (picture a human dust mop). Ray thinks that this is hilarious.
Anytime it is dark outside Sam asks, "Is it night?" This morning I explained that it was just cloudy. He said, "oh, yeah, just cloudy Mommy."
Sam was reading a book yesterday and when he got to page with an airport he started singing about Christopher (my step brother) and Jenica. Christopher is a navy pilot hence the airport association. He has been making up songs a lot lately.
Ray showed up to story time at the library today with no socks on (he pulled them off in the car and I shoved them in my pocket knowing if I put them back on he would just pull them off again) and he just crawled past me with no pants on.... It's only mid 40's here today. Ray will be happy this summer when he can wear as few clothes as possible.
Yesterday Sam pushed his "rainbow" (bubble mower) around the block announcing to the entire neighborhood that his bubbles were going up into the trees. We don't know why he calls it a rainbow.
Sam knows when a bus is passing the house by sound and goes running to stand on a stool to look out the window.
Ray clapped along to all the songs at story time today while Sam shyly sucked his thumb. It's the 2 year old's story time....
If you tell Sam to recycle something he knows which garbage can to put it in.
Aren't they bright?! I'm sure they have done a lot more lately but that's what I could think of off the top of my head.
I leave you with a picture of Sam "reading" to Ray.
ahahaaha.. omri definately calls pads diapers too! cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable!
ReplyDeleteBtw, it cracks me up that Sam eats tofu and Omri loves sushi. I hope my future kids will have such good taste...
