I think I'm official becoming a runner. I'm starting to like it more and more and with a nudge from Mike we went to Front Runner tonight (the Dave's Running Shop of Columbus). I knew the cheap New Balance shoes I've been running in weren't working well - my toes have been falling asleep but I was surprised to find out that I am a huge pronater (I walk toward the insides of my feet). I actually thought I was just the opposite but now I realize that I kind of start on the outsides and majorly roll to the insides of my feet. Of course now that I'm aware of it I'll probably be driven insane by any shoes other than..... Saucony's Progrid Omni 7 Ultimate in a size 9 1/2! It's crazy how different these shoes feel compared to my others. I'll admit that I don't think they are cute at all and I wish the Nike pink and black ones I tried on would have worked but, oh well. If the shoes fits...buy it, right? Special thanks to our salesman who I will call "Bob" because I didn't catch his name. Bob got a kick out of Sam and Ray and was also sporting a medium length gray pony tail. Ray just kind of hung out in his car seat while Sam wheeled his Wonder Pets rolling backpack around the store. Good times.... Incidentally, Mike ended up getting the Male equivalent of the shoes I got so, someday when we go out running together we will be all cutesy in our matching shoes. :) Now I just need to find some warm weather running gear. I wonder if I will even like running in warm weather? I'm kind of getting used to running in 20 degree temperatures.

Now all you need is matching "family" shirts and walkie talkies and you'll be ready to go to Cedar Point.
ReplyDeleteIsn't getting professionally fitted running shoes a great experience? I also pronate - your Saucony Progrid was one of my top choices - a great shoe! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI guess we're a family of pronaters, cuz I do too! I noticed a HUGE DIFFERENCE in my running when I starting wearing the "right" shoes.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling you'll love running in the spring weather. I can't wait for it! I'm such a wimp about running in the cold...
Your shoes look so comfy!
Matt- you forgot the fanny packs.
ReplyDeleteBlaire - You beat me to the punch about the fanny packs; I was going to post the same thing.
ReplyDeleteMatthew - These shoes are just for running not for tramping around CP. :) But I do think we are going to get matching shirts for a "Family Fun 5K on the Fourth" We have a friend that screen prints anything you create.
Brooke - I only have warm weather running clothes...It's supposed to be high 60's here this weekend. I think I'm in for it!
Kathy/Brooke - Maybe we can start getting a family discount on shoes! Actually I looked my shoes up online and I only found them for $5 cheaper plus I would have to pay for shipping so, I don't think I got a bad deal.
Family Fun 5K on the Fourth???? Oh my goodness... our family is so cheesy.:o)
ReplyDeleteOr are we just plain, wait for it.... Awesome?!
ReplyDeletespeaking of running shoes, i got brand new, beautiful $85 nikes at the beginnging of indoor track. about two weeks ago, i go to my locker and find that they're STOLEN. i was stomping around furious for about a week. luckily, mikey g got me some new adidas; they're not as great, but i'm grateful to just have a decent pair of shoes. i don't think that you have to worry about those puppies getting swiped though.
ReplyDeleteWell, Sam does like to wear other people's shoes and Ray likes to chew on them...
