Homemade Mother's Day Gift

This year I decided to get crafty for Mother's Day. I made Mike's Mom a set of blank cards (they have a dachshund, Rachel). I had all the supplies in my craft closet.

First I found a coloring page (I turned it into a girl dog) to use as my stencil. I traced around it with permanent marker so that I would be able to see it better.

Traced it onto the actual card.
Cut it out. (Combination of box cutter from the tool box and scissors.) Remind me to add something like THIS to my wish list.
Put a piece of colored cardstock on the inside of the card (I made 6 cards using 6 different colors).

Viola! A set of cards ready to go. They would be super cute with some embellishments (glittered dog collars maybe). But, I was just using what I have on hand. Not to mention I hate glitter (such a mess)!
