Back to School Week

Now that Mike has had a full week of back to school under his belt, the boys and I are finding a groove again. Every morning this week Sam has asked me, "Where's Daddy?" "Will he be home in 5 minutes?" When Mike gets home, Ray goes running full force at him before he can even get through the door. They sure do love their Daddy - I'm sure some Daddy play time will be in order this weekend. We are all adjusting to back to school!

This week we have done plenty of playing!

We watched the street get repaved out the front window. Ray has been climbing on everything including the coffee table to see out the window! You may also notice in the video (if you listen closely) that Ray is talking a lot more! This week he started saying, "duck quack quack", "ball", "cu" (cup) and some other things.

The boys have also had lots of fun with Baby Mia. She is the (nearly) 4 month old that will be with us Monday-Friday while her Mommy and Daddy are at work. I would love to show you how cute she is but I'm not a fan of putting other people's kids on the www. She is super cute with chunky thighs, blonde hair and a good size head (after my boys I'm a sucker for a "good size head"). Sam and Ray have both been showing her how all the toys work. Sam has read her books and makes it his personal goal to make her laugh every day! Today we went for a little walk (about 2 miles) with Mia in the front pack carrier and the boys in the double stroller - it was a good workout! One little girl we saw (she was about 5) said, "Mommy, look at that lady! She has a lot of babies!"

We also made an exciting purchase this week - bikes and a pull behind trailer for the boys. We went for a bike ride on Wednesday night and it was great! The boys really enjoyed it. Sam especially loved the bridges and tunnels (there are some small ones over creeks and a large one under 270). We had Lexi (our niece) with us too. I can honestly say it made me appreciate our city a little more since I had never been on the bike paths before.

Today we were having an especially playful day and since it was a rainy afternoon we set up "Camp Mara" under the kitchen table complete with pillows, flashlights, lion, monkey, little people, and a bucket full of Hotwheels cars!

How can you resist that dimple?!

Sam did not want me to take his picture.

Sam is trying to convince Ray that the dark "tent" is fun. He eventually climbed in.

  3. The video worked for me. Love the picture of Ray's dimple. Matthew's back to school now too, I honestly feel like I'm more productive when he's gone though! That's great you're babysitting again, but it must be a lot of work.
