Here are some "quirks" from this past week:
Sam (at the pizza joint we like to go to) was reading all the individual letters of a sign that said, "Keep Off! Not responsible for injury." When he asked us what it said we told him, "Keep off!" He proceeded to run his finger across the "Not responsible for injury" part of the sign saying, "keeeeeeeeeeeep offfffffffff". (probably had to be there for that one...)
After pizza we loaded up in the car only to find that it was very stinky in the car. Mike and I both assumed Ray was to blame. Mike put Ray in the trunk of his car (to change him) only to discover, "It must have been a fart." It still smelled real bad... then, Sam announced, "I smell like CRAP!". and yes, he did! Sam then went on to tell everyone that, "Daddy put him in the trunk..."
Ask Ray what he wants for a snack and he'll probably reply, "Duck!" Everything is about ducks with this kid.
Ray is trying to sit in the baby swing while I am typing this.
The other day Sam got up at 5:30am and didn't want to stay in his bed so, I threw him in bed with Mike and I. After about 15 minutes he woke me up to say, "Mommy, we have to go back to my room and get Jesus and Angie!" (Angie is his imaginary friend and you never know with Jesus...)
Now Ray is running around the house pointing at everything saying, "Duck, duck, duck!" (You probably guessed what he was saying though right?)
Sam taught himself how to click and drag with the touch pad mouse on the laptop this week.
Ray is saying, "Sack" and "ink" (snack and drink).
Usually after I go to the grocery store Sam gets really excited and thanks me. This morning he said, "Oh Mommy, you got Golden Grahams! Thank you sooooo much!"
Little M (who I babysit for) is getting a ride in the exersaucer courtesy of Ray. He is holding it by one of the toys and spinning it in circles. Little M is cracking up!
It still surprises me sometimes when Sam talks like an adult. He just said, "Mommy, may I have some more pretzel sticks please?" (It's the fact that he called them "Pretzel sticks" and not " 'retzals" that threw me off.)
Duty calls..
I'm sure there were lots more this week but I can't seem to remember...
