Pp is for...

Our preschool letter this week is P. There are SO many fun P words so, I decided to do two posts this week. This is the first.

While in his pajamas, Sam easily came up with precisely 23 P words. My favorite that he came up with is, "Pow!". He learned the word from these comic book inspired pj's he has.

Sam made a purple do-a-dot P and polka dotted pig. I had intended for him to use our pompom magnets but he preferred the do-a-dot markers (These have gotten so much use since Christmas! Ray uses them too. I highly recommend them! You can find them at Michaels or order them from amazon.).

Monday night, after our long adventure home in the snow, I made pancakes for dinner. Sam wasn't feeling well so he didn't help out with the measuring and mixing. Last night, we made up for it and had a Pizza Party! Sam helped me add all the ingredients to the mixer and we talked about how yeast makes the dough grow bigger after you let is rest for a bit (We use this dough recipe from Kitchenaid.). He even took these pictures to compare and contrast the growth (yes, that counts as science experiment for a three year old!).
Here are two Pizza picture books that we like.

Pete's a Pizza by William Steig
Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! by Gwyneth Williamson. I found this book at Big Lots, a local discount store, and gave it to my husband last year for Christmas or Father's Day or something. He loves pizza and I love when he reads it in this really thick (made up) Italian accent.
So, just in case anyone is still reading... What is/are your favorite pizza topping(s)? Mine are cheese and mushroom or cheese, mushroom, green pepper and onion. All three of my guys prefer pepperoni.

  1. I find three pizza toppings together to be the magic number. I would have to say bacon, pinapple, and jalapenos all together is pretty much the best thing ever. But then again I wouldn't order that at Gino's or Miles, which are the two best pizza joints in NWOH. Gino's you gotta do meat sauce with onions. Miles you gotta do Chicken, Artichokes, and sliced almonds. Oh and Pizza always has to be washed down with a frothy lager. I don't feel bad about the length of this: 1. because you asked and 2. I don't comment nearly enough.

  2. Bacon on thin crust from Marco's! That's the best pizza on the planet!

  3. New York, just cheese, no screwing around.
