- Cleaned kitchen including mopping.
- Washed and put away several loads of laundry.
- Picked up the rest of the house.
- Several hours of gardening including transplanting daffodils, pulling weeds, transplanting a bush, and getting the garden area just off the patio to a place where I am almost* happy with it.
* We have a part of our gutter on the back porch that creates a puddle in the garden area so I want to get some rocks or marginal water plants or rain chain or some combination of these things to help with the puddle.
Yes, I managed to do that with the boys. This is not a typical day.
When Mike got home I wasn't in the mood for making dinner and Sam was in the mood for feeding ducks (he gave his leftover bread from lunch to the birds) so this led to a trip to OSU campus for Flying Pizza and feeding ducks at Mirror lake**. Flying Pizza is one of Mike and I's favorite pizza places (it's by the slice and they get some of their supplies from Sofo's in Toledo) and it's nice to get down to campus once or twice a year to remember where my Cbus roots are. Sam loved feeding the ducks (yes, only ducks, no geese at mirror lake!) and was so brave I was afraid he might fall in the water! Ray didn't want to feed the ducks he preferred to just eat the bread himself :)
** Yes, I did the jump into Mirror Lake; only once - I think Sophomore year.
After all this I decided I had to go run. With everything going on I hadn't been out in over a week (the previous Wednesday). Somehow I still had energy for Week 6 Run 2 (2 10min runs). I never looked to see how far I ran and now I don't even remember my exact route to look it up. Oh well... It went great! We are just shy of 4 weeks until the Komen and I know I'll be ready.
And now I am caught up on my blogging! (The rest of the weekend was mostly gardening and getting our middle bathroom shower repaired - a planned one day job that of course turned into two days.)
Oh and I've gotten some sun so my freckles are all out but I think my legs still glow in the dark (even after wearing shorts for two days).
Here are some pictures from our trip to campus.
Mike especially likes this picture because they are both drinking.
Main library at the end of the oval - they are totally redoing it right now and it is closed. Mike was surprised when I told him I never checked a book out in the 4 years that I went to school at OSU.
Ray loves being outside!
Orton Hall. Mike explained to me how he always knows what time it is on campus. I guess I never knew how the bell system worked... I also always wear my own watch.
Sam feeding the ducks.
Great shots of campus! Love the idea of the rain chain!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic day! The pizza looks especially good...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family outing on campus!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that a rain chain and a small wetlands garden beneath it would be a nice addition to your yard.
That was a very fun evening, except for my BIG goof up, sorry honey.
